Executive Committee

ACE is governed by elected officers and appointed directors, collectively referred to as the Executive Committee. All of the Executive Committee members are members of ACE and volunteer their time for ACE. The Executive Committee is comprised as follows:


PRESIDENT
     Mark Cole

Basically, the President is responsible for the overall direction of ACE. The President appoints all of the directors (with approval of the other officers), supervises the performance of the other officers and directors, presides at the annual convention, chairs the business and Executive Committee meetings, authorizes all disbursements of funds, appoints the nominating committee for elections, and ensures that ACE's Constitution and Bylaws are met.

VICE-PRESIDENT
     Dave Altman

The Vice-President assists the President with his or her duties. In the event that the President cannot continue in office for any reason, the Vice-President becomes the President until the next election.

SECRETARY
     Bill Linkenheimer III

The Secretary produces and maintains minutes from the annual business meeting and all Executive Committee meetings.

TREASURER
     Bill Graves

The Treasurer maintains all of ACE's financial records, supervises deposits and disbursements at the direction of the President, prepares ACE's annual budget and financial statements, and assists the President in all financial planning.


IMMEDIATE PAST PRESIDENT
     Carole Sanderson

The Immediate Past President serves on the Executive Committee after his or her term as President to help ensure a smooth transition for the next President.

INFORMATION SERVICES DIRECTOR
     Brian Peters

The Information Services Director oversees the management of the membership records, manages ACE's Internet activity, and manages all of ACE's computer databases that are integral to the organization.

PUBLIC RELATIONS DIRECTOR
     Bill Linkenheimer III (Interim)

The Public Relations Director publicizes ACE's goals and objectives to new and prospective members, to the media, to members of the amusement industry and to the general public.

The Publications Director supervises the preparation of RollerCoaster! and ACE News.

PRESERVATION DIRECTOR
     Howard Gillooly

The Preservation Director assists in the identification, preservation, and conservation of roller coasters and in acquiring coaster exhibits, photographs, records and related equipment.

LEGAL AFFAIRS DIRECTOR
     Al Wolsky

The Legal Affairs Director prepares, reviews, and safeguards ACE's legal documents, provides legal advice and guidance to the Executive Committee and undertakes necessary legal correspondence.

MERCHANDISE DIRECTOR
     Stacey Smilek

The Merchandise Director is responsible for the purchase, marketing, and financial records of ACE's promotional items. You can contact the Merchandise Director to purchase cool ACE T-shirts and jackets, back issues of our publications, and the Guide to Ride guidebook of the roller coasters in North American parks.

REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVE DIRECTOR
     Harry P. Sykes, Jr.

The Regional Representative Director appoints and supervises the Regional Representatives. The Regional Reps are appointed based upon zip codes. The reps communicate with members, welcome new members, and maintain ACE's good relations with the parks in their regions. Many of the reps also produce regional newsletters and organize local events so that more members can become involved even if they are unable to attend national events.

The Historian collects and disseminates information regarding the history of the roller coaster.

ARCHIVIST
     Terry Lason

The Archivist maintains records of ACE's activities and collects information regarding the historical background of ACE and roller coasters and assists in establishing a museum and archives for roller coasters.

EVENTS DIRECTOR
     Paul Blick

The Events Director plans the annual convention and ACE conferences. The Events Director and Regional Rep Director also coordinate scheduling for local events so that none of the events overlap.

REGISTRATION DIRECTOR
     Maggie Altman

The Registration Director plans and receives all registrations for the annual convention, ACE conferences and other activities. The Registration Director also produces the cool name tags that help us to find each other at the events.

 

CENSUS DIRECTOR
     Jeffrey Seifert

The Census Director maintains and publishes a census of all known roller coasters in operation or intact, including information as their characteristics, conditions, and locations worldwide.
